Mindful Movement for All Ages and Abilities

Discover the transformative power of mindful movement with this ten-week chair yoga class series. This course is accessible to everyone, regardless of age or physical ability, and requires no prior yoga experience.

Deeply rooted in the foundations of mindfulness and somatic movement, these classes invite you to slow down and tune inward. Instead of focusing on achieving the perfect yoga pose, you will learn to increase your body awareness based entirely on how each movement feels from the inside out. Each session progressively builds upon the last, guiding you through gentle, conditioning exercises designed to deepen your mind-body connection and counteract the adverse effects of prolonged sitting.

By practicing this twice-weekly chair yoga class over ten weeks, you will experience steady improvement in your physical strength, flexibility, and balance while cultivating a profound sense of inner calm. Practicing chair yoga:

  • Prepares your mind and body for meditation

  • Relieves arthritis pain and stiff joints

  • Improves posture, flexibility, and balance

  • Builds muscle mass and physical strength using resistance bands

  • Supports bone health to help slow osteoporosis

  • Reduces stress and promotes deep relaxation, and

  • Connects you with a friendly and fun community of fellow practitioners

Chair yoga offers the same benefits as traditional yoga with less risk of injury and is adaptable for all levels of practitioners. Once you learn the exercises, they can be done anywhere and anytime – all you need is a chair.

Move your muscles and meet your mind. Come join the fun while we tune in to tone up!
